Fields of Fame Scavenger Hunt

This interactive scavenger hunt encourages students to explore Alberta Champions Society’s Fields of Fame located throughout Calgary.

Description

Using location-based clues, students identify where each installation can be found and learn how public spaces connect to Alberta’s community history.

Designed for Grades 4–9, this activity works well as a field trip guide, outdoor learning experience, or classroom geography extension. It supports Social Studies learning by helping students connect place, history, and community leadership in a meaningful and engaging way.

Teachers can extend the activity with reflection questions about why certain locations were chosen and how public recognition helps preserve Alberta’s heritage.
